Suncrest Hospice would love for you to join our volunteer family! As an integral part of our team, volunteers provide companionship and support to our patients located at home or in a facility. Our current service area includes Essex, Bergen, Morris, Passaic, Union, Warren and Somerset counties. Do you have a certified pet therapy animal? Or do you have a loving, sweet and gentle pet that can peacefully bring comfort and support to our patients? Then we need you and your wonderful animal companion! Our patients can greatly benefit from friendly visits with compassionate animal friends (and humans!) Our volunteers consistently report that they find their experience very gratifying. You may share your gifts in a very flexible timeframe, but we typically request volunteers to provide at least 4 hours per month. Suncrest is looking for a few volunteers who would like to make home made greeting cards for our patients - all from the comfort of your home during your spare time! Our patients can greatly benefit from your talents and compassion. Our volunteers consistently report that they find their experience very gratifying. Direct patient interaction includes friendly visits, running errands or providing respite time for a tired caregiver. Administrative assistance includes writing cards, preparing packets and mailings, making phone calls or assisting at a community event. And this is just to name a few! Do you have a special skill or talent? Perhaps you play an instrument or sing. Maybe you're an artist, writer, hairstylist, massage therapist or reiki practitioner. We welcome you with open arms! Our patients can greatly benefit from your talents and compassion. Our volunteers consistently report that they find their experience very gratifying. Our current service area includes Morris, Bergen, Essex, Union, Sussex and Somerset counties. You can volunteer in many different ways! 1. Direct patient interaction includes friendly visits to our patients or providing respite time for a tired caregiver. 2. Administrative assistance includes preparing packets and mailings, making phone calls or assisting at a community event - just to name a few! 3. Pet therapy volunteers bring their well behaved and gentle dog or cat on patient visits to relieve stress and anxiety and provide peaceful comfort. 4. Musical and artistic volunteers bring the joy of their instruments, voices or art skills to share with our patients. 5. Gentle Touch volunteers go on scheduled events with our Marketers to give hand and arm 0massages to our patients and other facility residents. 6. Do you sew, crochet or knit? We need volunteers to make blankets for our patients year-round, as well as, Fidget blankets for our Alzheimer’s and Dementia patients. 7. Hairstylist volunteers wanted to volunteer a few times a month to pamper our patients with a fresh new haircut. 8. Reiki practitioner volunteers are welcomed to bring peace, comfort and balance to our patients. Suncrest volunteers consistently report that they find their experience very gratifying and our patients will greatly benefit from your talents and compassion.
