Compassus provides high-quality, compassionate, person-centered hospice services to our patients wherever they call home. Some hospice patients are on service for months, or even years! Our volunteers make a HUGE difference for our patients, and volunteers are considered just as important to our team as our paid staff. Having a friendly volunteer present to read, play cards, play a board game, watch a movie, sing, do a craft or any other activity the patient likes is very comforting. Volunteers can also support the caregiver by assisting with errands like grocery shopping, light housework or sitting with the patient while the caregiver runs an errand or goes to an appointment. In addition, we have administrative volunteer opportunities in our office assisting with tasks like mailing bereavement letters, planning a Memorial Gathering, putting together admission packets or making phone calls. We are also seeking volunteers for music therapy, pet therapy, massage therapy, Reiki and volunteers who are veterans. Apply today! Call Kim, Volunteer Coordinator, with any questions. 812-909-87078
