There are SO MANY ways to SAVE DOGS by Volunteering with HASRA! Here are few: Transport dogs to vet appointments Enrich a dog’s life at the shelter- come in and play with them, take them for a walk, teach them to sit, shake, lie down. Invite a dog for a sleepover or a field trip to give them a break from shelter life. Fundraising Photography Community outreach Check vet references Help on transport days The need is great, and the helping hands to ease this crisis are few. Whatever your passion; we would be blessed to have you! We are excited for you to join our HASRA family!

Fostering a dog is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have. By temporarily sharing your home and your heart with a dog in need you are actually saving two dogs! When a foster dog leaves the shelter to go to your home, it opens up a much needed spot for another dog to be taken in. HASRA provides everything you need to foster a dog. We provide a collar, leash, toys, crate, food, and potty pads if needed. We also provide all vetting care and preventatives. In many cases, you could be the dog’s first chance at experiencing life in a real home that provides regular care and love. Witnessing a foster dog grow in trust and love while under your care is a rewarding and heartwarming experience. We have several different opportunities for fostering. You could foster a pregnant mom, a litter of puppies, you could help nurse a sick or injured dog back to health, or a single dog. Most commitments are for a short period of time until we can secure a spot for them with a rescue. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone! Wherever you are in life, a dog will meet you, accept you, and love you for giving them a chance. This is an incredible way to teach children empathy, responsibility, and how to give back to the their community. Can't foster but want to help? We would love for you to volunteer at our shelter!
