Mission Statement
Oakland Black Pride is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support services and advocating for the rights of LGBTQOC communities within Oakland. Our mission is to promote equity, educate the public by amplifying the voices of the most marginalized within LGBTQ+ communities, and create a safe and supportive environment for all individuals regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.
Description
Oakland Black Pride has a strategic approach to achieving its goals. Over the past three years, the organization has produced the city of Oakland's Black Pride Festival. The nonprofit demonstrates exceptional leadership and organizational skills while implementing innovative programs and services that effectively tackle the root causes of the issues it aims to address. By empowering individuals through our Springboard Program and fostering community engagement with our monthly Queer + Trans Social Circle we are advocating for change; Oakland Black Pride has profoundly impacted countless lives within the city's LGBTQIA+ community.
Our ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including community members, government agencies, and other nonprofits, has resulted in meaningful partnerships that amplify the organization's impact.
