Description
HISTORY AND FOUNDING * Azteca Economic Development and Preservation Corporation (Azteca) was established in 1982 to preserve one of Laredo's oldest historically recognized residential neighborhoods, Barrio Azteca. Azteca is a community development corporation committed to protecting neighborhoods' cultural roots and economic integrity by creating affordable housing and financial opportunities for low-income individuals through collaboration with residents and partners. Working alongside the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Azteca has led the effort to preserve historically Latino neighborhoods for future generations by registering properties in the National Register of Historic Places.
