Mission Statement

As people of Providence, we reveal God's love for all, especially the poor and the vulnerable, through our compassionate service.

Description

We compassionately enter the lives of individuals faced with the realities of suffering, loss, death and grief, to offer expert care and education, while respecting each person's choices, values and beliefs.

For more than a half-century, Providence TrinityCare has provided quality and compassionate care to the chronically ill, the terminally ill and those nearing end-of-life, through palliative care and hospice programs. An innovative leader in this growing field, TrinityCare and it's TrintiyKids Care pediatric hospice program, are recognized nationally for advances in advocating for patients throughout Los Angeles and Orange counties. It is the goal of TrinityCare to provide comfort, care and support to make life as normal as possible for those whom it serves by giving patients and their families access to a continuum of total care. Providence TrinityCare is supported by a dedicated team of volunteers who give of their time to reach out to these vulnerable patients. I highly recommend Trinitycare to anyone who is interested in providing volunteering services. I have provided clerical work and health care to the organization. Under the leadership of the Volunteer Council and the volunteer coordinator, I have learned to provide quality care to the terminally-ill. It is a joy to see terminally-ill patients to appreciate what Trinitycare can provide to them at the last days of their lives. Best of all, I have developed friendship with my co-workers and patients. It is more blessed to give than receive!

This is a wonderful organization, filled with wonderful staff, volunteers, and clients. There are countless ways you can support this hospice from direct support to clients and families, to administrative support to the staff, and many things in between. I strongly encourage anyone with an interest or passion for the important work hospices perform to contact this organization. You will not be disappointed :-)

I have been a patient care volunteer for over 12 yrs. It's an honor to be welcomed into a family's home and trusted with being with a beloved family member as their primary care giver takes time to go out to eat, go to church, or the movies or shopping. PTCH has provided continual educational opportunities for me. I now can give my patients compassionate touch and for those who are non-verbal, it's a great way to connect! I am now on a volunteer leadership committee working with the staff to make our program even better! Former co-workers ask how my retirement is going and I say it's wonderful and fun! Part of that is due to being a part of this organization! If you love people, you will love being a volunteer with Providence TrinityCare Hospice.

I have been a volunteer with Providence Trinity Care Hospice for just over 2 years and cannot say enough about the caring and professional staff. I had no experience in the healthcare field but I wanted to contribute something after the passings of my parents, both of whom had been cared for by the Providence Little Company of Mary Trinity Care Hospice team. As a volunteer I usually relieve a caregiver for just an hour or two once or twice a week by visiting with their loved one chatting, reading or often simply sitting in silence. The caregivers often express how grateful they are to have a few moments to run an errand or just to take some time for themselves. And I get much more back than I give. I am privileged to be a small part of this exceptional team.

One of the positive aspects for myself in volunteering as clerical assistance, has been to realize that it was one of the best decisions I have made. Giving back to PTCH for all they gave my family and myself during my mothers last weeks has been rewarding for myself & for the organization. They are an organization that is as caring and understanding with their volunteers as they are with their patients.
