Ivy Creek Hospice is seeking Veterans for our Veteran to Veteran Volunteer Program. As a Veteran Volunteer you can visit Veteran hospice patients! Often they want another Veteran to talk to and enjoy sharing their military stories and hearing yours! You can also assist staff in honoring our Veteran patients by participating in pinning ceremonies and helping to educate staff and community about Veteran related topics. Hospice Patient Volunteers provide companionship to patients and caregiver respite for family (allowing family breaks to run errands, etc). They may also deliver supplies, etc. This is beneficial to patients and families in so many ways! Volunteers never provide hands on care. care possible to our patients! Free orientation and training! Lawncare Volunteers needed to help Hospice patients with light yardwork! Some of our patients do not have family able to help them and are physically unable to do the work themselves. We are not asking for full service lawncare, just helping to keep their yard tidy and safe! Some patients will have their own equipment and others will need you to bring yours if possible. If you like to cook or are part of a group or business that already contributes community food we would love to have you on our team! Flexible scheduling. Set you own availability! You simply drop off the food you want to donate and we freeze for distribution as needed by families or we are happy to pick them up! No amount of food is too small!

Ivy Creek Hospice is Looking for Certified Pet Therapists to serve our patients. Applicants must be certified and provide a copy of certification, therapy dog vaccine records. and copy of liability insurance. Applicants will receive free orientation and training related to our Hospice Program. Pet Therapy can be so valuable to patients who have been forced to give up their pet due to illness or just missing a beloved pet that has crossed the rainbow bridge.

Our Hospice Team strives to enable the patient and family to maintain their dignity and quality of life. Our goal is to help the patient achieve physical, emotional, and spiritual comfort. We strive to empower the patient and family by providing them with the tools they need to make decisions. We provide ongoing support for family and friends for up to at least one year following the death of their loved one. We believe that hospice care should be available to any and all persons with an illness for which there is no cure and a limited life expectancy. Volunteers are an important part of our Team and help our patients in so many invaluable ways.
