Justice Education Project, Florida Chapter

The Justice Education Project has published a book, First Steps Into Criminal Justice Activism: For Youth, featured in Teen Vogue. It has also partnered with HerDrive to donate over 15,000+ menstrual hygiene products to incarcerated women, raised $1.5k for KIND, and hosted webinars with the Innocence Project and the ACLU. Through establishing a Florida chapter, we hope to bring the same passion and drive to criminal justice reform in Florida as JEP has brought to reform throughout the United States. The chapter is open to both high schoolers and college students (ages 13-25) who are passionate about advocacy and reform. You do not need a lot of experience with criminal justice reform to apply, so don't let that stop you! Our goal is to help young people learn more about activism, so they can step into the field of reform armed with both knowledge and zeal. The time commitment for chapter members will only be about an hour a week, and it's a great way to earn volunteer hours, gain leadership experience, and make a meaningful impact without having to leave the house (meetings will be on Zoom). Since we have only just founded the Florida chapter, we have a variety of leadership positions open, such as the positions of Vice Director, Research Director, Outreach Director, Social Media Director, and Finance Director.
