We’re looking for a creative, strategic, and socially conscious volunteer Social Media Engagement Coordinator to help us build a vibrant, engaged community online. This role is ideal for someone passionate about human rights and skilled at using social media platforms to foster conversation, grow awareness, and amplify advocacy. What You’ll Do · Execute and manage daily social media posts across platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Bluesky). · Engage with followers by responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and respectful manner. · Monitor and join relevant conversations, hashtags, and trends to amplify our voice. · Work closely with the Content Manager to align content with campaigns, events, and research findings. · Create or collaborate on multimedia content such as quote cards, reels, and infographics. · Track engagement metrics and generate monthly insights to inform strategy. Qualifications · Experience managing or contributing to social media accounts for a cause, brand, or organization. · Strong writing and communication skills with a good sense of digital tone and audience engagement. · Familiarity with best practices for social media growth, algorithms, and analytics. · Passion for social justice, human rights, and ethical storytelling. · Basic graphic design or Canva skills a plus but not required. · Organized, self-motivated, and responsive to feedback. Compensation and Commitment This is a volunteer, virtual opportunity with the expectation of 5-10 hours of work per week. At least a six-month time commitment is required. Who You Are We are seeking a passionate and strategic volunteer Public Relations Manager to elevate the visibility of our mission and amplify the impact of our work. This role will be key in shaping our public image, crafting compelling messaging, and cultivating strong relationships with media outlets and key stakeholders. What You’ll Do · Develop and implement a comprehensive PR and media strategy aligned with organizational goals. · Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and op-eds. · Proactively pitch stories to local, national, and international media outlets. · Build and maintain a media contact database and manage ongoing outreach. · Monitor media coverage and share performance metrics with the leadership team. · Collaborate with the communications and social media team to ensure message consistency. · Support crisis communications planning and execution as needed. · Represent the organization in public forums, interviews, or events (as applicable). You are both an independent self-starter and a collaborative team player, comfortable fostering relationships with donors and partners to maximize funding opportunities.
