Mission Statement
The mission of Backcountry Communities Thriving is to ensure the well-being of each child, family and individual in Julian and surrounding rural areas through advocacy, service and support to foster a thriving community.
Description
Our organization supports the Julian community by connecting residents to resources and social services. We are the lead for Feeding San Diego food distributions at the Butterfield Ranch Community and we also provide a monthly free pop-up thrift "store" for the residents there. Our organization also supports the Julian Union High School District through grants and scholarships. Backcountry Communities Thriving is the fiscal sponsor for the Julian Fire Safe Council. In addition to supporting all members of the community, BCT does whatever we can to educate residents on disaster preparedness. The founders are members of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
