Monthly commitment to facilitate a caregiver support group for family members impacted by Alzheimer's Disease or another dementia. Groups take place throughout LI; ADRC is especially committed to starting new groups in underserved communities and within faith-based communities. Caregiver support groups provide education and support while helping caregivers develop coping skills and a network of support. Looking for previous experience with support groups and/or a connection with having a family member living with cognitive decline. Training and ongoing support is provided. Opportunities throughout Nassau and Suffolk County. ADRC is located in East Islip but caregiver support groups take place throughout Long Island and even virtually.

Alzheimer's Disease Resource Center is looking for a volunteer to assist our not for profit make the most out of our social media campaign. We are looking for somebody to help build our presence on social media, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. We are interested in volunteers with experience in generating and scheduling content, following up with engagement and reposting opportunities, collaborating with staff and other volunteers. Candidate should have excellent written and communicatin skills, graphic design skills (ex: Canva, Adobe), access to necessary tools (computer, social media management software), availability for specific number of hours per week, ability to work independently and meet deadlines. NOTE: Candidates are asked to submit examples of previous work, including screenshots or links to social media accounts you've managed, campaigns you've run, and any design work you created to engage audiences.

ADRC provides regularly scheduled programs for people living with dementia, along with their care partner. These programs include weekly art and music; monthly museum visits and equine wellness and Memory Cafes. We are looking for volunteers who enjoy working with people, hands-on, to provide some of the following: Reminder phone calls Assist with checking- in our participants Setting up program (ie moving chairs, setting out materials) Circulating among participants to help create friendly environment Assisting participants, as needed, providing water or other refreshments to participants, helping with clean up.

Alzheimer's Disease Resource Center's Community Representatives are passionate volunteers who help raise awareness of the programs and services the agency provides, provides basic disease education and helps link community members to our organization. Volunteers serve as liaisons between the agency and civic organizations, neighborhood groups and faith-based organizations. Community Event Representatives may table an event by sharing ADRC materials or represent the agency at a civic meeting. Training and orientation is provided. This is a flexible opportunitiy.

Virtual Opportunity
You can make a difference! Your writing and creative skills are needed to further our reach and bring awareness to ADRC's mission and programs. Alzheimer's Disease Resource Center (ADRC) is looking for a volunteer to assist with designing and creating printed materials, including program and event fliers, tip sheets regarding dementias and caregiving, agency brochures, etc. If you are comfortable working in Canva and would like to volunteer either virtually or on-site, we need you! Volunteers should: Be familiar with design software tools such as Adobe and Canva and have access to these platforms Have the ability to create visuals that align with the nonprofit's brand and mission Have experience with digital design (social media graphics, email templates) and print design (flyers, brochures, posters) Have the ability to develp unique designs that capture attention and convey messages effectively Availability for a specific number of hours per week or month Ability to meet deadlines and work within project timelines Note: Candidates are required to submit a portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects, including both digital and print work. These samples should demonstrate your range, creativity, and technical skills.
