Mission Statement

Expanding the role of the Library as a welcoming destination and cultural hub that provides our residents--from youngest to the oldest--with materials and experiences for lifelong learning, information access, recreation and community building.

Description

The Tenafly Public Library serves the community of Tenafly, NJ. The following are some of the major services the Library provides:

  • Promotes reading readiness with programs for youth that develop listening, reading and writing skill development.
  • Implements programs that introduce children to STEM fields such as block building for toddlers, rudimentary robotics for early elementary school students, and a variety of maker classes for older elementary school students and teenagers.
  • Provides technology training for patrons of all ages.
  • Provides English Language instruction to new learners and access to materials in a variety of languages.
  • Serves as Tenafly's cultural hub through film screenings, concerts, art shows, access to museum passes and more.
  • Promotes reading as a leisure activity. We can use more readers.
