Description
The Ximenez-Fatio House Museum in St. Augustine, Fl is a 225-year-old museum, built in the Second Spanish Period and operated by Andres Ximenez as a grocery store and billiards room serving the Spanish community. Following his death, the home became a fashionable 19 th century boarding house owned and operated successively and successfully by three women, a rare occurrence in a time when women did not own property or run businesses.
The museum is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 10 to 5 with self-guided audio tours or docent-led tours upon request. The museum is seeking volunteers who have a strong interest in history and particularly the history of St. Augustine, a willingness to learn, a positive outlook, and an appreciation for and eagerness to assist our guests.
