Description
As a charitable program, we're all about helping those who need it most by providing delicious meals, health coaching, and nutrition education to economically disadvantaged individuals living with one or more diet-related disease. We are the first USDA certified (MTM) facility in Wisconsin.
Our food is medicine theory of change is all about using food as preventative medicine to improve health outcomes and reduce healthcare costs. By focusing on whole foods and avoiding processed and sugary foods, we can lower the risk of diet-related diseases like type 2 diabetes, hypertension, obesity, high-risk pregnancy, and cardiovascular disease. We also believe in increasing access to healthy food, improving nutrition education, and providing resources to help people make informed food choices. But it's not just about the food - we also recognize the importance of addressing social determinants of health, like poverty, food insecurity, and access to healthcare, which can have a huge impact on overall health outcomes.
