The Kiawanda Community Center (KCC) is seeking friendly and welcoming volunteers to join our team as Volunteers who will be a part of our active and dynamic schedule of classes, programs, and events. You will play a crucial role in creating a positive and welcoming environment at the center for all. Responsibilities: ● Greet visitors with a warm smile and provide friendly and courteous customer service. ● Assist the Event Coordinator in all things it takes to put together and produce fun and interesting activities. ● Direct visitors to appropriate areas of the facility and guide as needed. ● Maintain a clean and organized work area. Qualifications: ● Friendly and outgoing personality with a positive attitude. ● Willingness to learn about the area and share this helpful knowledge with others.

Description

Welcome to the Kiawanda Community Center, 'The Place to Be’ in our beautiful little beach town on the Oregon Coast. The KCC hosts classes, concerts, and community events, and we also welcome our community to join us for a Senior Meal every Thursday at 11:45am (lunch is served at noon).

Our center is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. If you have a question, comment, or idea about KCC, please call us at the 503-965-7900 and ask to speak with a board member. We’d love to talk with you!

I have volunteered for the KCC for the last 4 years and have found it to be a unique and rewarding experience because 1) the center is completely funded by volunteers, donations and events 2) it hosts a variety of activities and people 3) places like this are so valuable and key for community development in a rural area like South Tillamook County.

I run an NPO, also here in Pacific City: the Be Your Own Hero Foundation (http://beyourownhero.us). I hope to network with local NPOs so we can raise the quality of life here in this fine city of ours. My brother moved here in 2012, and I followed him in 2019. I can tell you as a California transplant there is nothing like a beach climate, and the Oregon Gold Coast is superior!

I've been volunteering at the front desk for almost two years, and the KCC is a fun place to work. I enjoy meeting people in the community and visitors to our little town, answering questions and helping people find information they need, and assisting with events. The KCC runs almost completely on volunteer efforts, and I'm happy to be able to give back to our community in this small way. The other volunteers are all friendly and helpful, and I definitely feel appreciated working here. Come join us!
