Mission Statement

Our mission is to enhance and educate the historical culture of West Pasco County, Florida and to preserve artifacts and the rich history for future generations.

Description

The "little old school house in the park" houses the West Pasco Historical Society, Inc. It is open Friday-Sunday, 1pm-4pm, year round. More open hours would be possible if we had enough volunteers. A Chronological tour is given to guests by a docent or the beautiful graphic arts on the walls tell the story if people just want to browse on their own. We offer private group tours in off hours for a minimal price, walking tours of the historical buildings in downtown New Port Richey and are doing our first boat tour in March down the Cotee river to tell the historical story of the famous people that once lived in the homes along the river as well as the famous stilt houses that still exist where the Cotee river joins the Gulf of Mexico. Our volunteers can be trained to use the Square register for admissions and sales from our Gift Shop. Other skills are needed such as data entry, legal advise, financial services, Membership Control, volunteer training, scheduling and recruiting.
