We are seeking dedicated volunteers to assist with ongoing property maintenance and various projects. Tasks include year-round cleanup, fence repairs, fixing damaged structures, clearing fallen trees, trail maintenance, burn pile preparation, road and trail repairs, signage installation, and more. We also need assistance in creating a map of our 72-acre property, which will be converted into a digital format for guest use. Additionally, we welcome individuals with an interest or background in animal sciences to help with equine and livestock care for our rescue animals. These opportunities are ongoing, and we are open to both individuals and teams. As a private campground, volunteers can enjoy the tranquility of the land and the companionship of our animals. Primary location: 40580 Ruth Hill Road, Yokuts Valley, CA 93675 (40 minutes from Fresno State). Assistance is needed 7 days a week. Fresno and Sanger projects are scheduled events only. Some of the projects include: Invasive species management Tiny home building Gardening/greenhouse building Event space construction Vertical agriculture Chicken farming (we have an abundance of eggs to share!) Livestock raising Medicinal plant cultivation and onsite apothecary Bus conversion site Tool and machinery share/rental We are looking for long-term/extended stay volunteers who are interested in a work exchange. We provide housing or land for tent setup, access to a community kitchen, and other onsite amenities. If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you might be the perfect fit for Camp ikigai Animal Sanctuary 501c3, a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating farm animals in need. Camp ikigai is looking for workcampers who can help with various tasks, such as general campground duties, animal care, communal gardening, maintenance, social media, fundraising, and more. In exchange, you will receive a free RV drydock site (no hookups), access to fresh produce (once the communal garden is in) from our organic garden food forest, and the opportunity to interact with our amazing animals and supporters. You will also get to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Sierra Nevada foothills, where you can hike, bike, kayak, or just relax and soak in the views. Camp ikigai is located near SEKI Sequoia Kings Canyon National Parks in Fresno County, California, where you can find plenty of shopping, dining, and entertainment options! We are looking for workcampers who can commit to a minimum of 3 months. You will be expected to work 20 hours per week, with flexible schedules and days off. You must have your own RV, Van, Skoolie, Tent etc. and follow our rules and policies for the property. You must also love animals! Camp ikigai Animal Sanctuary 501c3 is more than just a place to work and live. It is a place to find your ikigai, your reason for being. Come and discover yours with us!
