Primary Responsibilities: On-Call Advocates are a member of the Counseling Department, responsible for police and/or hospital accompaniment and counseling during non-business hours. Counseling Provide Hospital and Police Station accompaniment services as needed or assigned. Maintain availability during scheduled shifts. Respond to Hospital/Police Station as instructed by Pathways’ Dispatcher. Arrive at Hospital/Police Station within 2 hours of dispatch notification. Provide peer counseling support to Survivor and/or significant others within the model of Pathways for Change, Inc. Participate in group and individual supervision and actively seek feedback and guidance on all counseling and related activities. Participate annually in a minimum of 6 hours of documented in-service training offered at Pathways for Change, Inc. or in community settings. Reporting Collect and report client satisfaction information, as appropriate. Collect and report counseling information promptly and thoroughly using the Empower DB. Provide internal information for use in program evaluation and service utilization analysis. Provide completed reports in timely basis so that funder and Agency deadlines are satisfied. Advocates are paid a stipend of $20, $25 or $30 to be On-Call for 6 hour shifts overnights and weekends to provide support counseling to survivors of sexual violence and accompany them to hospital emergency rooms for forensic examinations and to police stations to file police reports throughout Central Massachusetts. If you respond to a call, a response fee of $15 per hour or $100, whichever is greater is paid. PPE will be provided.
