Reports to: Director, Donor Development Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and passionate Volunteer Development Associate to support our development team in advancing the mission of National Alliance against Disparities in Public Health (NADPH). This volunteer position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, and program development. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, an interest in nonprofit work, and a desire to help build sustainable partnerships with donors and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Donor Research: Assist in researching and identifying potential donors, sponsors, and partners by gathering information from online databases and other sources. Fundraising Support: Help with planning, coordinating, and executing fundraising campaigns, events, and activities. Database Management: Assist in updating and maintaining donor and contact databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Donor Communication: Help draft thank-you letters, donation acknowledgments, and impact reports to donors and supporters. Event Coordination: Assist in organizing fundraising events, virtual campaigns, and donor appreciation events. Social Media and Outreach: Support the team with social media posts, email campaigns, and other outreach efforts aimed at increasing visibility and engagement with supporters. Grant Research: Help research potential grant opportunities and assist with the preparation of grant proposals or applications. Administrative Tasks: Provide general administrative support to the development team, including filing, preparing documents, and data entry as needed. Qualifications: Be a US citizen living in the United States, no international candidates please. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Comfortable working with databases, spreadsheets, and digital tools (experience with Salesforce, Google Workspace, or similar tools is a plus). Passionate about the mission of NADPH and eager to support its growth and sustainability. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Previous volunteer or professional experience in nonprofit development is a plus but not required. Able to pass a background check. We are seeking volunteers with the following qualifications: Must be a US citizen and living in the US. Be able to volunteer 10 hours a week. Able to attend weekly leadership meeting as needed on Tuesdays at 9:30am EST. Proven work experience as a Social Media Manager Hands on experience in content management Proven experience in creating engaging content on different social media platforms-Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube Excellent copywriting skills Ability to deliver creative content (text, image, and video) and turn a concept into compelling content. Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics Knowledge of online marketing channels Familiarity with web design Excellent communication skills Analytical and multitasking skills Deep knowledge of social media trends, hashtags, and engagement strategy Responsibilities: Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences. Design and implement social media strategies to align with the short term and long-term marketing targets and then develop content strategies accordingly. Update the website, social media and content pages periodically. Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily (e.g., original text, photos, videos, and news) working with other agencies. Optimize Search Engine Optimization driven content and increase the site traffic. Collaborate with the Director, Donor Development, and other team members regularly to ensure brand consistency with posts. Oversee social media accounts’ design (e.g., Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures and blog layout) and collaborate with the IT department. Collaborating with the content and marketing team to decide the brand taglines, logo and other promotional material. Stay up to date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools, and applications. Attend biweekly branding and marketing meetings as needed. Be in regular communication with Donor Development and IT and when things come up to communicate matters accordingly.

You will represent NADPH and work with the Director of Community Outreach to develop and implement initiatives that increase NADPH’s visibility within surrounding communities. You need to be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and community-driven to take on this exciting role. These are nonpaid positions that require a positive attitude and readiness to be a team player. Essential Position Functions: Maintaining a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances, and other communication opportunities. Help identify potential outreach and awareness opportunities. Attend community events to represent NADPH and our programs as needed. Engage community members. Assist in preparing an annual budget for community outreach activities. Nurturing new and old relationships with collaborative partners. Scheduling regular outreach exhibitions in the community. Overseeing a professional customer relationship management system. Assisting in the organization of special events that may include volunteer appreciation events and other related fundraising initiatives.
