Mission Statement
Cardinal Hospice's mission is to provide quality care for patient's faced with a life-limited illness. The goal is to improve the quality of a person's life through pain and symptom control, as well as with emotional and spiritual support. We believe the patient and family are integral decision-making members of the hospice team in planning care. Cardinal Hospice offers as alternative to repeat hospitalizations. Hospice affirms life. It neither hastens nor postpones death but assists the patient and family in living with a life limiting illness. Cardinal Hospice recognizes dying as a normal process at life's end, which we can provide dignity and comfort for the patient and their loved ones.
Description
As a member of our Cardinal Hospice Volunteer Program you will have the unique opportunity to offer comfort to terminally ill patient's and their families, to contribute to the quality of their lives, and to support patients and families in their bereavement process. These are the goals of our Volunteer Program. As Patient Visit Volunteer we have the privilege of serving as caregivers, confidants or silent sentries: we help provide peace of mind for patient's and families. Volunteers often witness (and sometimes participate in) transformative moments with patient's and families. Other times all that is needed is calm, quiet, and benevolent presence.
Cardinal Hospice is in need of compassionate, energetic and dedicated volunteers.
