AccentCare Hospice is seeking caring volunteers in the Houston, Texas area that want to make a big difference in the lives of hospice patients by providing companionship and a listening ear at a time when they need it the most. Our direct care companionship volunteers relieve the loneliness and monotony that so many people living with a terminal illness suffer from. For many, the only regular human contact they have are the nurses or caregivers that are there to attend to their physical needs. Just by listening, having a conversation, playing a card game, or reading a book with our patients, you can dramatically improve their quality of life.

AccentCare Hospice is seeking compassionate volunteers who are active or retired United States military to help brighten the lives of our veteran patients. Whether you are assisting with a veteran pinning ceremony, attending veteran-centered events our team organizes, or directly visiting veteran patients for companionship, you can make a difference in the lives of hospice patients. While you are brightening your fellow veterans’ lives you might find that your life becomes brighter too! AccentCare Hospice, formerly Seasons Hospice, serves patients and families in your area. We are currently seeking new veteran volunteers to provide a wide variety of services to our patients and their loved ones. Our vet-to-vet volunteers visit patients wherever they call home to provide companionship and socialization. They may assist with legacy projects to honor the patients’ life or sit vigil and provide a supportive presence at the bedside of patients who are actively dying. Veteran volunteers also help our team honor veterans through pinning ceremonies and events in the community. These are just a few of the ways veteran volunteers in our organization support our patients, families, and staff. Even if you only have a few hours a month to give, we would be honored to have you join our team and support our mission of offering compassionate, personalized hospice care. Training is free and flexible to fit your schedule and you can choose what area you want to serve. We look forward to hearing from you and helping you find ways to use your experience as a veteran to honor and support fellow veterans at the end of life.
