Overview Raymond A. Wood Foundation is a rare disease nonprofit whose mission is to empower hypothalamic-pituitary brain tumor survivors with an improved quality of life by providing access to education, technology, and evolving treatments. We are the patient advocacy organization for hypothalamic pituitary brain tumor survivors. We are expanding our board of directors as the organization is experiencing a significant amount of growth. We are excited to add new board members with experience in fundraising, business, pharmacology, or advocacy. We are open applications from others with applicable experience as well. Board of Directors Raymond A. Wood Foundation board of directors is comprised of at least five members and no more than fifteen members. Raymond A. Wood Foundation’s Board of Directors is the governing body, overseeing vision, mission, and internal operations of the organization. Raymond A. Wood Foundation’s Board members are elected for three-year terms. Board members hold overall fiscal and managerial oversight responsibility for Raymond A. Wood Foundation. They are charged with the supervision and oversight of Raymond A. Wood Foundation’s mission. They are responsible for making decisions, delegating work, and assuring decisions are carried out in the manner intended. Ultimately, board members serve as ambassadors for Raymond A. Wood Foundation’s mission, inside and outside of organizational commitments. Meetings Board Members are required to attend two Board of Director meetings per fiscal year; one meeting will be held in person and the second will be held virtually. Additionally, board members are required to attend virtual committee meetings held quarterly. Fundraising Fundraising is vital to support the Raymond A. Wood Foundation. Board members have a responsibility to contribute to and/or fundraise for the Raymond A. Wood Foundation. Fundraising responsibilities include: Identify and evaluate prospects, cultivate and solicit gifts, actively support fundraising programs by their presence, and offer personal acknowledgments to donors. Provide leadership and actively advocate the organization’s priorities and the necessity of its fundraising efforts. Engage in personal gift support to their level of ability. Complete an Annual Pledge form each fiscal year. Board Roles and Responsibilities: Determine mission and purposes. It is the board’s responsibility to create and review a statement of mission and purpose that articulates the organization’s goals, means, and primary constituents served. Select the executive director. The board must reach consensus on the executive director’s responsibilities and undertake a careful search to find the most qualified individual for the position. Support and evaluate the executive director. The board should ensure that the executive director has the moral and professional support he or she needs to further the goals of the organization. Ensure effective planning. Boards must actively participate in an overall planning process and assist in implementing and monitoring the plan’s goals. Ensure programs are consistent with mission.The board’s responsibility is to determine which programs are consistent with the organization’s mission and monitor their effectiveness. Ensure adequate financial resources. One of the board’s foremost responsibilities is to provide adequate resources for the organization to fulfill its mission. Protect assets and provide financial oversight. The board must assist in developing the annual budget and ensuring that proper financial controls are in place. Build a competent board. All boards have a responsibility to articulate prerequisites for candidates, orient new members, and periodically and comprehensively evaluate its own performance. Ensure legal and ethical integrity. The board is ultimately responsible for adherence to legal standards and ethical norms. Enhance the organization’s public standing. The board should clearly articulate the organization’s mission, accomplishments, and goals to the public and garner support from the community. Declaration of Candidacy Board positions require a commitment of time and energy that should not be underestimated. Board member candidates are urged to consider personal priorities for the next three years, as well as the ways they will be able to contribute to the development of the organization. Responsibilities: Create and manage Google Ad campaigns that align with our mission. Optimize ads to meet performance standards and maintain compliance with Google Ad Grants policies. Monitor and analyze campaign performance, providing monthly reports on key metrics. Collaborate with the foundation's leadership team to ensure ads align with ongoing initiatives and goals. Requirements: Experience with Google Ads (experience with Google Ad Grants preferred). Strong understanding of Google Ad policies and best practices. Description
Raymond A. Wood Foundation (RAWF) was incorporated in December 2016 and is a 501(c)3) nonprofit organization with a goal to support survivors of childhood brain tumors and their families by providing a means to get devices or therapies that may help with ongoing chronic conditions that result from brain tumor treatment. The foundation is named for Alex Wood, a childhood brain tumor survivor. Today the foundation has evolved into seeking solutions for survivors of these tumor types - both children and adults.
