Mission Statement
Strengthening the lives and enhancing the character of Oklahoma City youth through tennis and education.
Description
First Serve OKC was established in 2013 as a chapter of the United States Tennis Association’s 'National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) network. The NJTL network was founded in 1969 by Arthur Ashe, the first African-American man to win the U.S. Open and Wimbledon, to develop young people's character through tennis and education. First Serve OKC Foundation is a youth development organization that provides a year-round safe environment for low-income, underserved children.
Our objectives are:
1. Help students acquire life skills that will allow them to be independent and impactful community members.
2. Improve students' academic skills and education outcomes.
3. Promote healthy lifestyle choices and positive character traits through tennis.
