ALABAMA SHERIFFS YOUTH RANCHES

Description

The Alabama Sheriffs Youth Ranches is a non-profit corporation that provides Christian, family-style residential homes for Alabama’s underprivileged children who are facing crisis and trauma situations. The Ranches provide an atmosphere where children can heal and grow into happy, responsible, and productive citizens. Many young people come to us from troubled backgrounds or crisis situations. The ranches are not reform schools or correctional institutions, and all our youth are simply children who desperately need a safe place to call home. Each child on the ranches is placed in a home with house parents, caregivers, and a structured living environment where they receive love, stability, and a safe place to call "home." Our ranchers are given every possible opportunity to have a "normal" childhood, a great education, and create good memories with their Ranch family.
Our goal is to make sure that no child in Alabama is left without the help and safety they deserve. However, a task this big requires the help of our local communities. We are funded almost entirely by private donations from individuals, churches, civic clubs, local businesses, and foundations. There are many ways YOU can make a difference in your community today! Our ranches always welcome volunteers to help out on the ranch and at events, and to host local fundraisers benefitting the ranches. Together, we can continue providing loving home’s for Alabama’s less fortunate children!
