Description
Capital Clubhouse, Inc. is a Washington, DC-based non-profit organization that offers people whose lives have been disrupted by mental illness the opportunity to demonstrate that they can and do lead productive, happy lives. Founded in 2017, we became fully operational in October 2019 in a space at NY Avenue Presbyterian Church. In March of 2020, we began to meet as a clubhouse online daily. There are some 200 Clubhouses in the U.S., over 300 around the world, and now also one in our nation’s capital. Clubhouses are member-based communities where people living with mental illness can experience respect, hope and opportunities. The clubhouse model is proving to be a great asset in the Washington, DC system of mental health care.
