Purpose: This opportunity gives volunteers a chance to play or coach football, cycling, hiking, or yoga. You will have the choice of working with kids or adults, or both An opportunity to: Share your passion for football, cycling, or hiking with local kids and adults. Experience the beauty of Musanze, Rwanda, surrounded by volcanoes and anyother part of this incredible country. Experience stunning wildlife and natural wonders, including Lake Kivu and the mountain gorillas. Submerse yourself in the local culture, art, and lifestyle. Have the experience of a lifetime! This involves: Contribute to community sports, with kids and adults, in the areas of football, cycling or hiking. Depending on your interests you could be involved with school kids coaching or supporting their athletics programs. Start a hiking or cycling group to explore the mountains of Rwanda or organize a sporting event, camp, or club. It's really up to you and how you choose to spend your time here. We are open to other sports if there is something else you would like to do. Football-Rwandan's love football! Come and support football in the local schools or start an after school program. If you are interested in working with adults, that can also be arranged. Depending on how long you stay, you could organize a tournament or host an event to raise money for equipment, etc. Athletics are also a great way to teach life skills and keep people involved in positive activities. Cycling-This program offers people of all different skill levels a chance to get involved in community sports. Musanze has a large cycling community which includes the Rwanda National Cycling Team. As a volunteer you could work with a school during physical education time or form an after school program. You could put on a cycling event to foster community health or raise money for bicycles for those that can't afford them. Sports are also a great way to teach life skills and connect with the community. Hiking-Rwanda is a mountain country. Musanze is surrounded not only by mountains but also by volcanoes. Volcanoes National Park and others are right outside our doorstep. If you are a hiking enthusiast you will love it here. If your whole family hikes, it is a great opportunity to travel, hike, and make new friends. You might get involved in a local hiking group or work with a school to create one. By incorporating some basic safety education, you could also help them explore nature in safe and smart ways. There is no end of flora and fauna around which also provide some educational opportunities, depending on your interests. Yoga-Musanze is the perfect location to commune with nature and get in tuned oneself. As a volunteer you might start a yoga group or club, use the principles of yoga to teach the local people about positive mental health and the benefits of practicing yoga. When the weather is clear, you might find a perfect location to practice outside in nature. The weather is mild most of the year, the volcanoes and mountains are beautiful, and the landscapes are stunning.

Gorillas live here and are a part of the local culture and folklore. There are many ways in which you can volunteer to do art. Work with kids in the schools by teaching art or helping them teach art using new mediums like recycled materials. Join an art class or sponsor one. Have an art contest or just a free night to paint, color, or whatever your specialty. You are only limited by your own imagination. Photography would also be great since there is so much natural beauty here in Rwanda. Join the hiking club or going gorilla trekking. Rwanda is really one of Africa's hidden gems

This programme aims at promoting initiatives that drive actions for: Monitoring health status to identify and solve community health problems Diagnosing and investigating health problems and health hazards in the communi Informing, educating, and empowering people about health issues Mobilizing community partnerships to identify and solve health problems Developing policies and plans that support individual and community health efforts Linking people to needed personal health services and assure the provision of health care when otherwise unavailable Assuring a competent public and personal healthcare workforce Evaluating effectiveness, accessibility, and quality of personal and population-based health services Research for new insights and innovative solutions to health problems The overall aim is to to contribute to addressing key issues and cross-cutting issues pertaining public health and sustainable conservation through: Key issues: Assessment and monitoring of beneficiaries’ individual health within their communities to identify health problems and priorities Formulation of public policies designed to solve identified health problems and priorities. Assuring that all populations have access to appropriate and cost-effective care, including health promotion and disease prevention services. Monitoring and diagnosing the health concerns of entire communities and promote healthy practices and behaviours to ensure that populations stay healthy (Vaccination and control of infectious diseases, Safer and healthier foods, Safe drinking water, Healthier mothers and babies and access to family planning etc. Education and outreach programmes Cross cutting issues: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene campaigns Outreach on communicative and non-communicative diseases, Sexual Transmissible Diseases, Balanced diet to fight malnutrition related diseases, Drug abuses and delinquent behaviours, parasitic diseases, Sexual Reproduction and Health Reproduction, Menstruation Health Management, Water Sanitation and Hygiene Family planning Outreach on health insurances Training on First Aid
