We are seeking an individual who is outgoing, enjoys talking to and meeting new people and is comfortable interacting with individuals with occasional language barriers. This volunteer would help with collecting client ID, as well as meeting with clients to acquire an understanding of what their needs are and direct them to the appropriate person. This position would be up to 4 days a week but can be fewer if needed. Ideally the hours would be 4-5 hours each day but it is a little flexible depending on your availability. This is an Unpaid, strictly volunteer position. Proficiency in Spanish is beneficial.

Volunteer with the CWS CARE (Communities Acting for Refugee Empowerment) Program, an initiative dedicated to closing the economic gap for established refugees by connecting clients to volunteers who commit to provide support toward their educational and employment goals. Social Support: CARE teams offer their time and expertise to provide social support for their refugee partner. This support is determined by CWS based on individual client needs and goals. Support might include helping a client study for an exam, helping a client obtain childcare, offering professional mentorship in a certain field, connecting clients with useful professional networks, or practicing interview skills. Financial Support: Some CARE teams contribute financial support to help cover costs associated with training programs. Many clients need to reduce working hours or leave their jobs in order to complete the trainings necessary to pursue new job opportunities. This support gives the refugee partner assurance of financial security while they pursue these new paths for economic upward mobility. As a volunteer, you will have assistance from the CARE Program Coordinator and an Employment Specialist, both employed by CWS. Volunteering requires the successful completion of a background check as well as a 1-2 hour virtual orientation to the program and your role as a volunteer. If you have any questions, please email the CARE Coordinator, Sarah, at shester@cwsglobal.org. Thank you!
