Position Overview The Social Media Content Creator is an exciting new role that supports the Minority Women Pharmacists Association communications strategy by capturing and creating engaging stories about women pharmacists of color. This position also serves as the content creator and copywriter who helps disseminate information to current and potential members, prospective donors, and sponsors. This position captures and tells the stories of our community using a wide range of media and content published across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate is a creative but concise storyteller who loves linguistics, has a great sense of humor, is meticulous about spelling and grammar, is passionate about people, and is motivated by creating "mission moments" that accurately portray the voice of those we serve in a dignified and compelling manner, using the written word, video, art, and any creative means. Knowledge of Canva is required. Relationships This position reports to the Executive Director to cure and create content. Your Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or relevant field (preferred) Minimum of two years of journalism/multiplatform content creation experience (preferred) Demonstrated proficiency in copywriting and copy editing; impeccable grammar and spelling skills (required) Mastery of the English language, with reading, writing, listening and speaking fluency (required) Maintain a broad and current understanding of social media (required) Have a portfolio and track record of creating stories and multiplatform digital content that is shared, consumed, and demonstrates consistent engagement A team player that can handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from members, donors, volunteers, and the general public Sensitivity to diverse populations and the ability to serve people in a compassionate, patient, friendly, and courteous manner, showing sincere interest in people’s concerns Commitment to the Minority Women Pharmacists Association’s vision, mission, and values Video production/editing with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Promo, or other video editing software is a plus, as is a working knowledge of WordPress. Your Responsibilities Play a lead role in crafting, capturing, writing, editing, and curating engaging, quality content across multiple platforms that align with brand values. Write copy for social media, website, newsletters, collateral, toolkits, and other items as necessary. Help build and promote an internal culture of storytelling. Liaise with a Graphic Designer to produce marketing collateral and work with the Digital Marketing Manager to help plan content. Serve as a brand ambassador, ensuring all copy and content meet brand guidelines, are proofread for errors, are publish-ready, and flag any necessary edits. Proactively understand organization projects and current events to help promote the organization’s mission-critical work and support the Minority Women Pharmacists Association objectives. Working Conditions This is a remote position with a time commitment of approximately ten hours per week.
