Activites volunteer may provide assistance with: Companionship, Errands, Reading Respite for Families, Playing Music, Light housekeeping, Participating in patient hobbies, Life History, etc... We request volunteers provide about 1-2 hours a week, though volunteers may choose to give more hours. Generally, volunteers visit their patients for about an hour a week, but this can vary. Volunteers will be matched with patients based on the patient needs and volunteer availability. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, able to pass a background check and drug test, and complete a volunteer training through Alliance. Hospice provides physical, spiritual, and emotional care to those who are in the final stages of life. Volunteers are important members of the hospice team, providing valuable support to patients and their families. A volunteer’s gift of time and compassion is essential to the holistic approach of end-of-life care.
