Mission Statement
Mission: To provide, in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps, financial, educational, and other need-based assistance to active-duty and retired Sailors and Marines, their eligible family members, and survivors. Vision: As a non-profit, volunteer service organization, we use both financial and non-financial resources to identify solutions to meet emerging needs. We help clients improve personal financial skills and encourage individual financial responsibility.
Description
Founded in 1904, the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is a private, non-profit charitable organization. We exist solely to support the active and retired communities of the Naval Services. The Society's principal activity is the disbursement of interest-free loans and grants. It also provides visiting nurse services, thrift shops, Budget for Baby(r) class with gift, budget counseling services, and educational scholarships and loans. Located at approximately 250 offices ashore and afloat throughout the world, the society's work is accomplished mainly by its 3,600 dedicated, trained and caring Volunteers who are supported by a small cadre of employees. San Antonio Office is located on JBSA Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX and supports satellite offices in Corpus Christi and Kingsville.
