Description
St. Jude Great Commission Community Development Corporation (CDC) was formally established in March 2016 as a Faith Based nonprofit. Its formation grew out of a 10 year work of St. Jude Great Commission Church to address the economic decline right outside its doors in the low-income neighborhood of Highland Oaks located in south St. Petersburg Florida. Shortly after formation, the CDC made its primary focus to address the critical shortage of affordable housing. It has become imperative for the CDC to focus on housing as one of the key strategies for preventing families from drifting into poverty while revitalizing declining neighborhoods. Homeownership done right has long proven to be a way for American families to build wealth and for communities to sustain economic vitality.
With a grant from Wells Fargo Bank during the 2018-2020 fiscal years we reached more than 280 households through this project. We intend on reaching more in 2021.
