Interim Home Health and Hospice is a full-service hospice that serves clients in Wayne, Oakland, and parts of Livingston county. Providing support for those who have lost a loved one to a terminal illness is an essential service that hospice provides. Here at Interim Home Health Care and Hospice, we follow our families for up to 13 months after their loved one has passed away, providing individualized support to each person. Our hospice is seeking a volunteer to assist the Bereavement Coordinator with providing bereavement support to our families who have lost a loved one with our hospice, as well as community members. This specific bereavement volunteer role would include assisting our Bereavement Coordinator with community grief and loss groups This may include researching requested grief and loss topics, and being present at our community grief and loss groups. Volunteers must be 18+ years of age, and be available one Wednesday per month, in the mornings (preferably the 2nd Wednesday). Volunteer will be required to participate in our regulatory volunteer onboarding and training process, including training on grief and loss. Experience in facilitated a support group is encouraged, but will train approrpiate candidate. Interim Hospice of Oakland County is looking for a volunteer to offer pet therapy for our patients and their families. This volunteer would do home visits with their designated service pet to visit patients and families in the home setting. We cover Wayne, Oakland, and Livingston county. Must be 18 years of age or older. This role is scheduled on an as needed/ requested basis. Pet therapy certification is required. Interim Healthcare and Hospice is a full-service hospice that supports a person’s quality of life when time is limited. We provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support to those who are terminally ill, and those that love and care for them. Our hospice is located in Novi, Mi. However, our service territory includes Wayne, Oakland, and parts of Livingston counties. As member of our Hospice team, volunteers have a tremendous impact on the lives of the patients and families we serve, as well as the community and agency as a whole. This volunteer role is a great role for anyone who is looking to volunteer remotely, and wants to practice their creative writing and research skills. This volunteer would be responsible for researching and writing educational content for our social media platforms, as well as our monthly community newsletter as requested. In order to provide this much needed service, many things are happening in our office on a daily basis that allows us to provide that care. We are currently seeking an Office Assistant Volunteer to assist the Office Manager with a variety of different tasks which may include, but is not limited to, scanning documents, organizing files, and making copies.
