This is a seasonal position and follows the hatching of songbird babies. Anticipated start date is early April and anticipated end date is early October. In addition to feeding, duties include keeping babies and cages clean, food prep and light housekeeping including dishes, laundry, and floors. There are 4 3-hour shifts daily and a lot of flexibility in scheduling. Orientation required. This position accepts applicants 16 years of age.

The animals voted and it's official: the produce volunteers are their favorite!! No special skills required, just sort and chop produce, then head outside to distribute it through the various yards. Do you feel the love? Volunteers must be 16 and older. High School students requiring community service hours are encouraged to apply.

CWR's annual animal intake is over 7000 animals! We rely heavily on transport volunteers to get them to the center. If you want to help but need a flexible schedule, this is the position for you! As a Transport Volunteer, you will register your home and/or work address in our private database. If an animal in need is nearby, you’ll be tagged on our dedicated Transport Facebook group allowing you to decide when you are able to volunteer. Depending on the situation, you may work with other volunteers or staff to capture an animal. Upon pick-up, all animals must be transported to our facility in Indian Trail. Transporters needed throughout North and South Carolina.

Love our mission but do not enjoy working outdoors? Our inside support team helps us with laundry and dishes, cooking eggs, small organization projects and sweeping the common areas. You'll also help with the feeding and cage cleaning of our resident animals that live in our intake area as well as some small animals that are waiting adoption and have included parakeets, lovebirds and even chameleons. Volunteers must be 16 and older. High School Students requiring community service are encouraged to apply. Unfortunately at this time Carolina Waterfowl Rescue does not provide volunteer hours for Court Appointed Community Service. 7 Days a week. Morning- 8 am to 12 pm. Evening- 4 pm to 6 pm. Currently filling openings on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday AM, and Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday PM

Love animals and the outdoors? This position is perfect for the active, outdoor types who want a little exercise and fresh air! You will help care for our resident ambassador animals and the domestic animals waiting for adoption by providing food and fresh water, collecting eggs, and, at sunset, herding birds into predator proof enclosures. You may also clean cages of animals undergoing medical care. You never know what you'll find at CWR but can always expect to see ducks, geese, chickens, swans, donkeys and other farm animals! You will be working with a group of other volunteers on your shift under the guidance of an experienced shift leader. High School students needing community service hours are welcome to apply with parental approval. Unfortunately at this time Carolina Waterfowl Rescue does not provide volunteer hours for Court Appointed Community Service. Shifts are seven days a week, either AM or PM 365 days a year, rain or shine.
