Mission Statement

B.E.C.O.M.I.N.G. Girls is a mentoring program established in 2015 through D'Ashley's House Inc., a nonprofit organization that helps to rebuild, restore, and renew women in their community. B.E.C.O.M.I.N.G., which means Bold, Empowered, Courageous, Original, Motivated, Inspired, Noble Girls is a program for elementary, middle, and high school girls in the Hattiesburg area. B.E.C.O.M.I.N.G. Girls' goal is to foster a commitment to young women that will promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and reassert a sense of hope for their future. B.E.C.O.M.I.N.G. is in direct response to the growing number of young women that are either falling through the cracks at school or are already entangled in the harsh circumstances that they have been forced to face because of their unique situations. The goal of the program is to identify young women who are going to have a difficult transition to adulthood and offer a positive support system to avoid the pitfalls that may derail their lives.
