Mission Statement
A Mentor provides one of CIS-SA five basics beliefs: every child deserves a one-on-one relationship with a caring adult.
Our Mentors provide a relationship over a prolonged period of time ( one or more school years) between a youth and an older person who provides consistent support and guidance.
The goal of mentoring is to help mentees gain the skills and confidence to be responsible for their own futures, including, and with an increasing emphasis on, academic and occupational skills.
Description
Our mentors are dedicated, loving and caring individuals that what to help provide hope and help transform the life of a student.
Our mentors help our students believe that graduation is attainable and planning for their future is a must.
Our mentors must successfully pass two background checks, this includes a CIS-SA and a school district background check.
Our mentors must complete a two hour training on what it takes to be an effective mentor.
Our mentors are matched with their mentee on a campus of their choice and then begin their rewarding experience which will be for the duration of a school year.
