Mission Statement
Cincinnati Music Accelerator (CMA) has quickly grown its impact in the Cincinnati region, working to make a historic impact through the art of music in our city. Cincinnati Music Accelerator (CMA), Ohio’s first music career accelerator organization dedicated and focused on the development of music creatives, fostering and fueling creative placemaking, and striving for economic development and impact within the community it serves through arts and education.
Description
CMA has served hundreds of musical entrepreneurs within the region since its founding in 2017 by native and music producer Kick Lee as a People’s Liberty project. They’ve since developed several programs and projects such as The Street Stage Project in partnership with Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. (3CDC), which pays artists to play music on the streets in the central business district and Over-the-Rhine neighborhoods. Other projects include Vitality, mental health, and wellness program for people in music; The CMA Mobile Stage trailer used to program and activate in various communities around the region while highlighting local musicians; and the CMA Music Studio, currently in development, to teach youth and young adults the creative and artistic side of the business of music. Because of CMA’s efforts, musicians are starting to feel more empowered about who they are and their craft. They encourage imagination and innovation in everything they do and build diverse relationships that enable the music arts to enrich lives. At Cincinnati Music Accelerator, equality is afforded to everyone regardless of his or her unique place in the diversity spectrum to broaden our cultural experience. CMA attributes its success to the people and community they serve. They believe that Cincinnati has the power to become a vibrant music city, that through the art of music an everlasting and sustainable impact can be made to a community ecosystem, and that for our community to thrive the music creatives within our community must thrive as well.
