Do you want to help youth with learning challenges achieve their goals? We are looking for volunteers that would be willing to help us with community outreach, fundraising, event planning, and letter writing to name a few tasks. We want to inform and educate the public of our mission of helping students with learning challenges. Any ideas are welcome, as we want to serve more students and offer scholarships to those would would not be able to afford the individualized support. NorthBridge serves students with learning differences including dyslexia, ADHD, the Autism spectrum (ASD), non-verbal disorder (NVLD), sensory processing disorder (SPD), hearing and vision loss, anxiety, depression, and other learning differences. Our mission is to provide support, resources, and guidance to students with learning differences as they transition to, persist and succeed in higher educational and vocational opportunities.

NorthBridge Board Development and Growth NorthBridge College Success Program was established in 2011 when leaders from New Way Academy recognized the need for a comprehensive college support program for students who learn differently. These learning differences include dyslexia, ADHD, the Autism spectrum (ASD), non-verbal disorder (NVLD), sensory processing disorder (SPD), hearing and vision loss, anxiety, depression, and other learning challenges. The program was known as Bridgeway Transition until late 2014 when the program incorporated as a 501(c)3 and changed the name to NorthBridge College Success Program. The mission of the NorthBridge College Success Program is to provide support, resources, and guidance to students with learning differences as they transition to, persist and succeed in higher educational and vocational opportunities. NorthBridge College Success Program hosts board meetings 10x/year. Each member shall commit to attend at least six to eight meetings. Board members must commit to an annual strategic planning session and an annual fundraiser. It is the expectation that all board members are contributing members to the organization on an annual basis. Members may contribute through financial donation, recruitment of outside financial donations, or sponsorship at an annual event. Additional board members will be recruited with the following backgrounds: Fundraising Marketing/Advertising Business Development and Partnerships Fundraising The Fundraising Officer is responsible for overseeing the organization's overall fundraising and, in particular, the fundraising done by the board. To accomplish this, the responsibilities are: To work with the Executive Director to establish a fundraising plan that incorporates a series of appropriate vehicles, such as annual events, direct mail/web-based campaigns, and seasonal events. To work with the Executive Director and Board Chair in their efforts to raise money. To take the lead in certain types of outreach efforts, such as chairing annual events or hosting fundraising parties, etc. To be responsible for the involvement of all board members in fundraising. To monitor fundraising efforts to be sure that ethical practices are in place, that donors are acknowledged appropriately, and that fundraising efforts are cost-effective. Marketing/Advertising The Marketing and Social Media officer is responsible for the promotion of NorthBridge College Success Program. In addition, the officer shall assist other members with communications and public relations campaigns. Responsibilities include: Enhance and maintain the NorthBridge College Success Program website. Prepare print and electronic marketing materials (brochures, logos, posters, e-advertisements, etc.) to promote awareness of NorthBridge College Success Program College Success. Seek out media opportunities for the Executive Director, Board Members, and NorthBridge College Success Program students to speak about the NorthBridge College Success Program. Act in an advisory capacity for each committee on public relations techniques. Write press releases. Develop a communication plan and social media plans. Identify innovative and effective marketing, branding, outreach, recruitment, communication methods, and media. Work with the Executive Director to maintain the NorthBridge College Success Program social network pages (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc). Increase followers and keep the pages current. Business Development and Partnerships The Business Development and Partnership Officer is responsible for developing and engaging partnerships to advance the NorthBridge College Success Program mission. Specific responsibilities include: Create new and develop partnerships with local education agencies, community organizations, city municipalities, and businesses/corporations to identify meaningful collaborations. Work closely with the NorthBridge College Success Program Executive Director to identify needs and develop strategies to support those needs. Connect the NorthBridge College Success Program with partners that will aid in advancing the mission of NorthBridge College Success Program College Success. Actively network and promote NorthBridge College Success Program College Success, engaging with organizations both in-person and via online communities.
