Virtual Opportunity
Do you want to make a difference in a young person’s life? At Mentors 4 College, you’ll have the opportunity to build healthy relationships with high school students eager to chart their post-secondary path. Working closely via zoom with students and their families, you will be helping them find their best-fit opportunities and guiding them on what they need to do to achieve their goals. You’ll probably discover that spending time with these young people has a positive impact on you, too. If you can give your time , we'll train you to become a mentor or to help out with administrative tasks. If you've been to college, participated in an apprenticeship program and/or helped someone with these, then you already have the basics! Our training will provide the remainder of the knowledge you'll need to help students find their ideal colleges. Since our mentoring is virtual, you can mentor from anywhere in the US. The students you mentor may likewise be anywhere in the US. Mentors are encouraged to mentor at least 3-5 mentees. You only need to spend a few hours a semester with each mentee, and you can schedule that time whenever it's convenient. So you'll be doing a lot of good without committing a lot of time. Mentoring can be done entirely online. We are a small organization with an experienced, hands-on board. When you start mentoring, a board member will be assigned to assist you. In-service training is conducted several times a year as well.
