Mission Statement
TO PROVIDE SERVICES AND PROGRAMS TO LOW-INCOME PEOPLE THAT ADDRESS THEIR BASIC NEEDS AND HELP THEM ACHIEVE ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE.
Description
The Center has been fighting poverty in Lincoln, Nebraska since 2003. We are at 3901 N. 27th Street where we are able to provide regular food distributions in our People's Pantry. We are serving more than 2300 Unduplicated families a week. We have more then120 students in ELL, and close to 400 active learners in Educational Pathways
Education is the key to helping low-income individuals obtain economic independence. As such, the Center developed educational and training programs to help people obtain employment with a living wage.
The Center actively advocates for regulations and legislation to remove the barriers that trap people in the cycle of poverty. We are dedicated to the fight against poverty in our community and will continue to provide basic needs and educational and training opportunities for low-income families until there is no longer a need.
