Board Recruitment Announcement Dream Keepers Inc is seeking volunteer leaders to join our impactful board of directors. Operating since 2016, Dream Keepers has empowered, networked, and mentored hundreds of girls and women throughout the Milwaukee and Houston area. We are continually working towards our mission: - "To build positive lifelong relationships and provide opportunities to help girls grow into women that will succeed in multiple areas of their lives." We are looking to partner with professionals that are willing to contribute their skills, expertise, values, and qualities to guide Dream Keepers closer to our mission by providing management advice on the strategic direction the organization should follow. Goals: Specific goals for this year include creating and implementing a budget and fundraising plan, developing a program implementation strategy, and increasing the company's online presence. Expectations: Board members are actively involved in organizational governance and are expected to attend monthly board meetings, participate in at least one board committee, make a personal financial contribution, raise at least $300 annually and manage at least one donor or community partner relationship. Skills: The board needs a variety of skills, with a strong emphasis on board candidates with accounting, human resource, legal, and media expertise, as well as those connected to the local workforce development agency, foundations, educational institutes, and communities of color. Commitment: Board members are expected to serve on the board for a minimum of two years. Parent Coordinators are part of the administrative team at Dream Keepers. They work closely with our staff, leadership team, parents, and community groups to engage families and involve them in Dream Keepers programs and initiatives. This position focuses on creating a welcoming and supportive environment for parents and guardians. The Parent Coordinator is also charged with identifying issues/concerns with families and working with Dream Keepers leaders to ensure that these issues are addressed in a timely manner. Engaging parents and family members in their children’s lives is critical to our Programs success. When families are involved, youth receive higher grades, attend school more frequently, perform better, show improved behavior, and are more likely to graduate. Our organization is striving to develop meaningful and effective parental engagement strategies and we're looking for a Parent Coordinator to help us carry out this responsibility. Family Engagement Conduct outreach to engage families in their children’s progress and maintain open lines of communication with families Build relationships with families that support ongoing communication and involvement in programs/activities Serve as facilitator for parent and Dream Keepers concerns and issues Organize events to increase parental and community involvement and create fundraising engagement from families. Communications Create and maintain systems to manage youth and parent information appropriately (Keep Contacts and forms up to date) Create and proofread professional correspondence including letters, newsletters, and other deliverables as needed Enrollment/ Recruitment Support Dream Keepers recruitment efforts that promote the registration and enrollment processes. Promote and represent Dream Keepers on social platforms, open houses, and community events as appropriate. Answer questions pertaining to the registration and enrollment process.

Dream Keepers Mentoring Program is designed to provide support, guidance, and opportunities to help youth succeed in all areas of their lives to ultimately achieve their goals and dreams. The essential components of our program include creating caring, empathetic, consistent, relationships and providing a combination of role modeling, teaching, and advising to our youth. Our goal is to inspire the youth of today to be the leaders of tomorrow. Through our mentorship program, we focus on building positive lifelong relationships and self-esteem that will empower students to be leaders and confident in following their dreams.
