Mission Statement
Immerse Arkansas transforms youth from crisis into overcomers.
Description
Immerse Arkansas was established in 2008 as a response to the needs and obstacles of kids aging out of foster care. As time passed, other gaps became startlingly clear. By 2016, Immerse was supporting runaway and homeless youth, youth again out of foster care, and youth victims of trafficking and sexual exploitation.
Instead of trying to manage, rescue, or fix youth in crisis, we serve them best through the gift of unconditional, supportive, and nurturing relationships, coupled with high expectations. It is the gift of belonging, the gift of being wanted and valued. At Immerse, we prioritize the person over the program. It’s messy and slow work, but it is the loving patience we all need.
At Immerse, youth in crisis will always find a safe place to belong and a person to connect with. Supports include healthy snacks and meals, mentoring, life coaching, job search and placement, tutoring, counseling, life skills classes, group therapy, art classes, a computer lab, laundry, showers, and more. Volunteers help make all of these support possible!
