Mission Statement

The WellMed Charitable Foundation was established in 2006 by Dr. George Rapier III, a noted physician who is also the Chairman of the Board. The Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization, and the philanthropic partner of WellMed Medical Management, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. As a volunteer, we aim to assist the center and community in covering social events, recreational activities, and the center’s projects. Wellmed Vision: Help older adults in our community stay active, and healthy and make positive connections with others. Wellmed Mission: Involve community members in volunteering in activities to improve the lives of our seniors to keep them active, healthy, and engaged.

Description

The foundation offers a variety of programs that directly serve seniors and their caregivers across Texas and Florida. The foundation is also the research arm for the company, engaging in partnerships that explore innovative ways to care for seniors. In addition, the foundation has contributed millions to non-profit partners who serve the senior and caregiver population.

Who we are: WellMed is a Senior Activity Center whose members are 60 and older. Our goal is healthy living, and we provide activities daily such as arts and crafts, basic health screenings, community resource assistance, fitness classes, health education, pool tables, ping-pong, and more! The activities are provided at no cost by the WellMed Charitable Foundation, a non-profit organization.
