Mission Statement
We provide exceptional care and unparalleled service to patients and families who have placed their trust in us.
Description
Hospice is a form of compassionate and quality care for people facing a life-limiting illness or injury. Rather than trying to cure a terminal illness, the goal of hospice is to make the patient comfortable, ease pain and other troublesome symptoms and support the family through this challenging time.
Hospice volunteers make a valuable difference in the quality of a person's life as it nears its end. Volunteers provide emotional support and practical assistance that enhances the comfort and quality of life for patients, their families and loved ones. As a hospice volunteer, you may be asked to: listen and support the patient and family, read or sit with the patient for short periods of time, honor and support our veteran patients, prepare a light meal, write letters, run errands, help with office tasks, or support community events like educational offering or health fairs.
Hospice was developed in response to a community's needs, and it is necessary for members of the community to share in and contribute to its well-being. For the safety of our patients and employees, all volunteers are required to complete drug tests and background checks. Training is provided as part of your volunteer experience. Hospice is living, loving and making every day count!
