Seeking 3 board members (non-profit experience preferred) : 1) Treasurer; 2) Secretary; 3) Member with legal background Our Mission To inspire under-resourced children to make positive choices, embrace high expectations, and fulfill their potential to help ensure a better tomorrow. We do this through tutoring and mentoring, social and recreational experiences, summer camp and opportunities to engage in athletics, the arts, etc., and assistance to families needing help with basic needs. Descriptions 1. BOARD TREASURER - Performs general board member duties; informs and guides accounting/finance/fiscal duties of the board; non-profit experience preferred. 2. BOARD SECRETARY - Fulfills general board member duties; manages agendas, minutes, documenting board votes; maintains key organizational corporate documents; non-profit experience preferred. 3. BOARD MEMBER - Fulfills general board member duties; legal background and/or non-profit experience preferred. Our board meets at our headquarters in Manahawkin once a month for two-hour sessions. Board members are requested to make attendance at these meetings (in-person or virtually) a priority. An additional contribution of flexible time for assisting with fundraising, board committees, and other board responsibilities is also requested - please contact us for additional information. The Volunteer Executive Administrative Assistant will support the Executive Director and her team of key volunteers, with functions such as: Reviewing mail Taking calls Recording and disseminating messages Scheduling meetings (including virtual) Preparing documents, spreadsheets presentations, and reports Managing calendars and reminders Handling requests from key volunteers Ordering and maintaining office supplies Support office equipment and automation Other office duties as needed This position requires excellent verbal communication skills, good judgement, and strong time management skills in order to meet deadlines.
