Pride Funding Network is excited to announce an opportunity for a community member to join our Board of Directors as the Secretary. We are seeking a dedicated individual who shares our values and goals. This initiative aims to: Promote Fair Evaluation: Assess prospective board members more fairly based on established priorities and their alignment with our core values. Broaden Our Horizons: Extend beyond existing connections to attract a diverse range of board member candidates. Encourage Inclusivity: Provide everyone in our community the chance to express their interest in participating on our board. Create a Sustainable Pipeline: Develop a long-term pipeline for new board members to join us over time. About Board Service with Pride Funding Network: Joining our Board of Directors is a meaningful commitment. Here are the key responsibilities, expectations, and time requirements for the Secretary role: Meetings: Quarterly Meetings: Attend 4 virtual Board meetings per year, scheduled on the second Friday of February, May, August, and November. Annual Board Meeting: Attend the annual board meeting held on the second Friday of November. Preparation: Spend 1-3 hours per meeting reviewing the Board packet in advance. Annual Retreat: Participate in a yearly in-person Board and Staff retreat (various locations across the country with travel and accommodations covered). Key Responsibilities: Record Keeping: Accurately document meeting minutes and ensure they are filed and maintained. Communication: Distribute meeting agendas and minutes to board members, and ensure timely communication on board activities. Compliance: Ensure compliance with bylaws, policies, and board responsibilities. Archive Management: Maintain organizational records and archives, including bylaws, policies, and board member agreements. Support Board Chair: Assist the Board Chair with governance and board management tasks. General Board Roles and Committees: Chair: Oversee board meetings and ensure effective governance. Provide leadership to the Board in fulfilling its responsibilities. Finance Director/Treasurer: Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. Ensure accurate and transparent financial management. Present financial reports to the Board. Chair the Finance Committee. Fundraising Director: Develop and implement fundraising strategies and initiatives. Chair the Fundraising Committee. Program Director: Evaluate and enhance program offerings, including scholarships and grants. Chair the Program Committee. Governance Director: Ensure effective board operations and member engagement. Chair the Governance Committee. Advocacy Director: Focus on LGBTQ+ mental health support, human rights advocacy, and lobbying efforts. Chair the Advocacy Committee. PrideToken (PRD) Director: Oversee the management and promotion of PrideToken (PRD), including liquidity mining, staking, DEX listings, and partnerships. Chair the PrideToken Committee. Merchandise Director: Manage the creation and marketing of Pride Funding Network merchandise. Chair the Merchandise Committee. Technical Director: Oversee the technical aspects of our platform, ensuring system security, maintenance, and development. Chair the Technical Committee. Events: Join local Pride Funding Network events and occasional outreach meetings. Communication: Respond promptly to email communications and complete annual internal surveys. Learning: Commit to ongoing education and personal growth as we continually enhance our work, organization, and sector. Representation: Act as an ambassador for Pride Funding Network, promoting our mission within your networks. Financial Contribution: Make a meaningful financial contribution to Pride Funding Network (no minimum gift requirement). Qualifications and Characteristics of Ideal Board Members: Commitment to Equality: Share a dedication to LGBTQ+, gender, and racial justice, with a track record of supporting these causes. Insightful Perspective: Offer a deep understanding of power and privilege dynamics, striving to increase accountability to marginalized LGBTQ+ communities. Passion for Mission: Exhibit enthusiasm for supporting Pride Funding Network’s role in the community and through our initiatives and fundraising. Relevant Experience: Have prior engagement with Pride Funding Network as a grantee, donor, volunteer, partner, or demonstrate a strong familiarity with our work. Focus Areas: Have a vested interest in and experience with LGBTQ+ mental health support, human rights advocacy, crowdfunding, and cryptocurrency initiatives.
