An understanding and sensitivity to the issues faced by our communities, especially Disabled 2 Spirit, Trans, Intersex, and Gender Expansive (2TIGE) individuals, as well as BIPOC. Creative thinking with a proactive approach to problem-solving and community engagement. This role can be effectively managed by a dedicated volunteer, or even better, a small team of volunteers who can share the responsibilities. If you want to be a part of that small but impactful team of volunteers, read on to find out how this collaborative approach can work - it not only eases the workload but also brings diverse perspectives to our content, which is at the heart of TEP's values of inclusion and community support. Here's how: Divide Responsibilities: Allocating different tasks such as content creation, scheduling, and community management to different volunteers can make the role more manageable. Time Commitment: For a single volunteer, dedicating 3-5 hours a week can facilitate a basic level of engagement and content management. However, for a broader and more proactive strategy, we'll need additional volunteers to share the workload. Collaborative Scheduling: If the role is shared, we’ll work from a collaborative calendar where volunteers can mark their availability and tune into the workflow, which can ensure consistent coverage and content creation. Regular Check-ins: Regular check-ins can help keep everyone aligned with the aims and mission of TEP, ensuring our collective voice remains strong and unified. Flexibility and Support: It's important to remember that our volunteers are offering their time alongside other personal commitments. Our aim is always to be flexible and to provide support to ensure that the volunteer experience is rewarding and empowering. Empowerment Through Training: For those who may be less tech-savvy, we provide the necessary training and support to ensure they feel confident and empowered in their role. By embracing these principles, we can foster a volunteer environment that is both effective and respectful of the time and energy of our volunteers, whilst maintaining the impactful presence TEP strives for in our communities.
