Mission Statement

We assist U.S. Veterans wanting to change or further their lives through education, advocacy and a nationwide network of resources. We deliver this promise through Veteran Service Teams. These small highly trained 5 - 10 person teams identify, coordinate and execute missions on an individual Veteran or Veteran organization level with the assistance of key strategic partnerships, community members and donors.

Description

Shadow Vets was founded by four combat Veterans who came home and discovered they had to rely on each other to overcome temporary economic hardships, periods of unemployment, temporary loss of housing and how to navigate the VA benefits process. Together we figured out that helping each other was both challenging and rewarding. In service we always had each other's back (or six). From these experiences a vision was born. We see Shadow Vets nonprofit growing to become a vast network of problem solvers collectively working to meet the needs of one Veteran at a time. We've got you - 360; our grassroots program was born. We believe we owe a commitment to the men and women who served in the Military. Through the creation of Veteran Service Teams we can deliver this promise.
