Volunteering at CalColor is an amazing experience and I recommend everyone to come volunteer here. The staff and children are amazing, and it is a great environment. It was a relatively easy volunteering experience as the kids were usually well behaved and the teachers asked us to do simple tasks involving art. CalColor is a great opportunity to learn social skills, make new friends, and learn how to work with others. I greatly recommend CalColor for any first time volunteers or anyone looking to do something fun and fulfilling!!! :)

I had an amazing time volunteering at CalColors! Working with the kids was a dream and they allowed me to get in touch with my childhood and also gave me responsibility that helped me establish my professional self at 15. Eventually, CalColors offered me a summer job! It was an amazing first employment! Thank you so much CalColors! You've helped me so much and now I have a customer service job with Teaspoon next door! <3 :)

I have been volunteering at Calcolor Academy ever since the summer of 2022. I love volunteering here, especially during the summers. The schedules are extremely flexible and snacks are provided during the summer. You also get occasional boba tea. The children are usually obedient, so you do not need to worry about having to deal with severe misbehavior. The teachers are extremely kind and respectful. Most of the tasks you will do will be folding/cutting paper, squeezing the paints, monitoring the children, and generally very simple tasks. If you want to volunteer for the hours, volunteering during the summer is an amazing, easy, and fun way to complete the hours. Because you will usually be volunteering with a partner, I have also gained a few friends. By volunteering here, you 1) enjoy your summer while helping out the local community, 2) gain experience of working with children, and 3) meet new friends. :D

I’ve volunteered at CalColor for 2 school years, and it’s taught me a lot about teaching children + art! I also had a very flexible schedule so that was great too.

I have volunteered here for two consecutive summers at the SSJ location and the experience was amazing both times. You are very well prepared for the tasks you do, the staff are very kind and welcoming, the snacks are a good bonus too. The most important part for me was that the amount of hours was very good, with 40 a weeks for full time volunteers. Overall volunteering at calcolor was a solid 10/10, and I would recommend it to anyone whether or not they need hours because of the fun you have and the cool people you meet while being there

I loved coming to volunteer here at calcolor. I learned to interact more with kids my age. I also loved watching, learning and teaching art skills to the younger children.

Last year's volunteering experience at Calcolor was really great, and the positive environment I was able to work in made a huge impact on my volunteering experience. All the staff and admin in the Calcolor community were super helpful in making sure I had the necessary resources and training to carry out my duties successfully, in addition to opportunities to bond with the kids and just everyone in general. Overall, I think volunteering at Calcolor was a great choice and led to a major increase in much of my leadership and communication skills.

I volunteered at calcolor and it was really cool, I had a lot of fun. It really helped me with my social skills plus it had a lot of benefits like getting boba from time to time. I felt really comfortable there because the staff is really inviting. It’s really nice to help out the teachers with their art and see what nice work that the students do.

I volunteered at CalColor last summer, and it was an overall great experience. I really enjoyed working with the kids, and I was able to gain a lot of knowledge regarding teaching, leadership, organization, etc. It was a very rewarding and fun experience, and I got to bond with the teachers, kids, and the other volunteers. The experience with CalColor was great, I got to help teachers and also help little kids with art. It tested my leadership skills and also my social skills, I was also able to make so many new friends! It was a fun-loving environment and definitely something I would recommend to other teens who are interested in art. All the staff members are super inviting and so are the kids you get to work with! The free snacks and occasional boba plus the 100$ gift card is just a bonus on top of the amazing experience. It is also a really effective way to earn volunteer hours since you are there for most of the day. Calcolor's volunteer schedule is really flexible, there are choices for half-day, morning or afternoon, or full-day; this allowed for me to also take other summer camps/courses I am interested in. Overall Calcolor's volunteer opportunity is really fun and comes with a lot of benefits other places can't provide!
