The mission is to increase underrepresented minorities entering into the various fields of healthcare by activating and cultivating each individual's strengths needed to advance in their field.
Description
The purpose of the Minority White Coat Foundation is to provide mentorship, scholarship, guidance, and strategies for minorities to become confident and exposed to interprofessionalism in healthcare. There are less than 10% of underrepresented minorities in the different fields of healthcare. Statistics show that the population responds better and are healthier when they see professionals of their same race and ethnicity. We are on a mission to help create a more culturally-competent healthcare field, including medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, nursing, business/health administration, applied health sciences, and biomedical research.
