Our small non-profit organization is looking to add members to our Board of Directors. We are hoping to add people who have various types of experience (both professionally and with non-profit) but also who have a passion for helping others! Redford Brightmoor Initiative is a community-based non-profit organization that serves people in Detroit, Redford, and well beyond. With our 2 Free Stores, Community Meals and Food4U programs, Car Care, Mobile Health and Dental programs, Wash Wednesday laundry program, youth & holiday programming, and so much more - we do a lot with a little and make a huge impact on the people that we serve.

The Redford Brightmoor Initiative (RBI) is a small, community non-profit organization that serves the Brightmoor and Redford communities with various programming and services, including Free Stores, community meal, community garden, diaper bank, laundry program, virtual tutoring, mobile dentist, and more! Our Brightmoor Free Store is open every Saturday morning where people can shop for clothing, books, toys, household items, kitchenware, personal care items and diapers - everything is given freely. We like to provide a hot, healthy lunch for our shoppers as well. Before Covid, we enjoyed a hot lunch together at our location. At this time, we are packaging lunches "to go" for the community. We are looking for groups to provide lunch for approximately 50 people. RBI will assist with the packaging and distribution. Some previous lunches have included lasagna, pasta, fried chicken, sandwiches, fruit, small desert, and more! We are looking for groups to help us with 1 lunch or more if able! We are looking for a Master Gardener (or an experienced gardener) who can spend some time with us this spring and summer to assist our community gardeners with their questions about their garden plots. We are a member of Keep Growing Detroit.

We are a small non-profit organization in the Brightmoor neighborhood of Detroit (Outer Dr & 96). We have a Free Store which is open every Saturday morning. It offers clothing for adults and children, household items, linens, toys, books, personal care items and more. We have a healthy lunch which our shoppers take "to go" and a variety of other programming depending on the time of year. We recently expanded our CAR CARE PROGRAM as many of our clients have problems with their cars - some minor problems while others have major issues. We have a certified mechanic who spends most Saturday mornings with us - assessing and repairing vehicles. The assessment and labor are free and are no charge to the clients. Clients are responsible for purchasing parts if needed. This is a hugely popular program and our mechanic is swamped! We are looking for a volunteer who can assist him with repairs and assessments, answer client questions, ensure paperwork is in order, etc. Program runs on Saturday mornings from 8:00am - 12:00pm.
